Cassandra Damm, LCSW
I offer therapeutic interventions with warmth and compassion, focusing on strengths to help identify opportunities for change and actualization. My primary areas of experience include depression/anxiety and other mental health concerns, substance use/recovery, and concerns related to gender or sexuality. I see therapy as a journey aiming to get deeper understanding of oneself, relationships, and the world around us.
In addition to treating depression and anxiety, I work with people who have been diagnosed with affective disorders such as depression. I work generally in areas of gender and sexuality and specialize in LGBTQ communities. I also have specialized training in PTSD and trauma.
I use a relational approach along with eclectic interventions based on what will best help achieve someone's goals. I also aim to view problems within their context, and see my work as deeply rooted in social justice. My interventions most often include motivational approaches, cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness and EMDR.
